In this episode we talk with Prof. Oliver Morgan, about his recent publication in Addiction, Attachment, Trauma and Recovery: The Power of Connection. We explore some of the mechanisms that underpin addiction behaviours. This includes understanding the neurobiological implications of secure and insecure attachment, how trauma impacts attachment and neurological processes and how addiction can be understood as being rooted in an attachment disorder, or as an attempt to secure a counterfeit connection in the absence of attachment.
