In this episode, we will cover how the breath plays a crucial role in regulating or dysregulating our autonomic nervous system, how it informs the kinds of thoughts and behavioural responses we have, and even our sense of connection or disconnection with others. Prof. Gerbarg discusses various examples of clinical applications, from working with mothers in NICU, clients with trauma histories, therapists in session and in family systems.
In the last segment of the podcast, Prof Gerbarg gives us a demonstration on how we can experience downregulating our nervous system using Coherent Breathing.
