Nightmares, Suicide and Image Rehearsal Therapy

In this episode, we talk with Prof. Michael Nadorff about his research, which is focused on the intersection between behavioral sleep medicine and suicide. He unpacks the clinical definition, prevalence and significance of nightmares and talks to us about the research findings regarding the association between nightmares and psychopathology. We explore the associations between nightmares and suicide risk, and how this can be used clinically as a screening for risk. Prof Nadorff also describes the process of Image Rehearsal Therapy, as well as other evidence based treatment options currently available.
